Latvian folk sign AUSEKLIS (Morning Star)

Sign emphasizes the nature of light – its universal, life-giving energetic essence. There are four arrows heading the center of person’s internal universe, a space of four sides with correspondingly diverse symbolic meanings:  four sides of the sky, four seasons, four stages of life – childhood, autonomy, commitment and legacy. Morning Star symbolizes the victory of light in the fight against darkness since it is harbinger of sunrise. It protects and does not allow the forces of darkness, magic and evil to be present.
